Hearing Screening Associates is seeking a part-time Newborn Hearing Screening Technician to perform infant hearing screens in a NICU setting at Ochsner LSU Health-St. Mary's in Shreveport, LA. The role emphasizes early detection and education for parents.

You will receive thorough training, work alternating weekends and a few weekday shifts, and gain hands-on experience with Transient Otoacoustic Emissions and ABR technology while supporting hospital care teams.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year of healthcare or childcare training/experience is a plus.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to function independently in a high-paced environment.
• Willingness to learn and operate hearing screening equipment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct newborn hearing screenings in well baby and NICU units prior to discharge.
• Coordinate post-discharge follow-up care as needed.
• Explain relevance of screening to parents and caregivers; support early identification.
• Maintain and use hearing screening equipment; assist with database management.
• Interact with hospital departments and comply with policies.
• Uphold the code of conduct and hospital training.
• Gain knowledge of TEOAE/ABR technology after training.
• All other duties as assigned.
