Job summary

Entegris, Inc. in Bloomington, MN, seeks a Manufacturing Technical Writer contractor to develop operator-ready documentation for product development, pilot builds, and production.

You will work with engineers, technicians, quality, and training to capture processes and translate them into standardized, compliant documents. You will simplify complex technical information, maintain controlled documents, and support training initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline, Communications, English, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience as a Technical Writer in manufacturing/engineering environments.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing documentation.
• Experience creating and maintaining controlled documents (work instructions, SOPs, specs, protocols, reports).
• Proven ability to simplify complex technical information into clear instructions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with strong attention to detail.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
• Experience collaborating with engineers, technicians, operators, and other SMEs.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and document management systems.
• Familiarity with ERP/MES systems and regulated documentation preferred.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating across teams.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain manufacturing work instructions, SOPs, inspection procedures, specifications, and protocols.
• Observe activities to capture processes and translate them into clear documentation.
• Partner with Engineering, Quality, Operations, and Training teams to reflect approved processes.
• Review and standardize existing work instructions for consistency and usability.
• Develop docs using drawings, build notes, test data, and process observations.
• Identify gaps and collaborate with SMEs to resolve issues.
• Support pilot builds, NPI, and process development with timely docs.
• Use document control systems to maintain quality/regulatory compliance.
• Track project status and communicate to stakeholders.
• Translate complex concepts into concise operator-focused instructions.
• Collaborate across functions to support continuous improvement.
