Job summary

Lifepoint Health in Temple, TX invites an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide direct patient care under RN supervision, supporting assessments and care planning in an acute rehabilitation setting. You will administer medications, assist with initial and ongoing assessments, and implement bedside nursing interventions while prioritizing patient safety and family education.

The role requires a graduate of an accredited LPN program, current LPN license, CPR/BLS, and ideally IV

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse program.
• Experience: Minimum six months of Medical/Surgical experience in an acute care setting preferred.
• License: Current state licensure as a Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse.
• Certifications: CPR/BLS certification required; IV Certification highly preferred or must be obtained within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications safely, accurately, and based on patient age and clinical condition.
• Minimize potential for medication errors by following proper medication administration procedures.
• Assist the RN with initial assessments and patient reassessments per policy.
• Identify and implement appropriate rehabilitation nursing interventions.
• Perform timely and accurate Quality Improvement (QI) assessments under RN supervision.
• Deliver care based on patient response to treatment and update the interdisciplinary plan accordingly.
• Assess and reassess pain; use appropriate pain management techniques and educate patients and families.
• Perform all patient care tasks in a manner that promotes patient safety and reduces medical errors.
• Develop and implement individualized teaching plans based on patient and family learning needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
