Job summary

Lifepoint Health is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide direct patient care in an acute care setting. Under RN supervision, you will administer medications, assist with assessments, and participate in care planning to support safe, patient-centered outcomes.

Candidates should have an accredited LPN program diploma, current Texas licensure, CPR/BLS certification, and at least six months of Medical/Surgical experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited LPN program.
• Minimum six months of Medical/Surgical experience in an acute care setting preferred.
• Current state licensure as a Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse.
• CPR/BLS certification required; IV Certification highly preferred or must be obtained within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications safely, accurately, and based on patient age and clinical condition.
• Minimize potential for medication errors by following proper medication administration procedures.
• Assist the RN with initial assessments and patient reassessments per policy.
• Identify and implement appropriate rehabilitation nursing interventions.
• Perform timely and accurate Quality Improvement (QI) assessments under RN supervision.
• Deliver care based on patient response to treatment and update the interdisciplinary plan accordingly.
• Assess and reassess pain; use appropriate pain management techniques and educate patients and families.
• Perform all patient care tasks in a manner that promotes patient safety and reduces medical errors.
• Develop and implement individualized teaching plans based on patient and family learning needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
