Job summary

Elmcor Youth & Adult Activities Inc. in Corona, NY seeks a Supportive Housing Peer to deliver peer support, mentorship, and guidance to residents transitioning to stable housing.

You will build trust, share lived experiences, and promote community engagement to help residents achieve housing stability. Responsibilities include collaborating with case managers, developing individualized housing plans, and facilitating groups on budgeting, self-advocacy, and tenancy skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and CRPA or CRPA-P required.
• Lived experience of housing instability.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Empathetic, patient, and nonjudgmental attitude.
• Knowledge of local resources for housing instability.

Responsibilities

• Provide peer support and mentorship to residents to promote housing stability.
• Collaborate with case managers to develop individualized housing stability plans.
• Lead groups and workshops on independent living and tenancy skills.
• Assist residents in navigating housing-related services and benefits.
• Identify and respond to crises and coordinate with the team for safety.
