Job summary

RiseBoro Community Partnership seeks a Mentor to provide supportive services to individuals and/or families in the NYC shelter system. The role emphasizes peer support, trauma-informed care, and harm reduction as tenants pursue service plan goals and independent living skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate degree preferred.
• Some experience with community organizing and/or tenant organizing and planning preferred.
• Experience or training in peer support.
• Must be able to travel and work evening and weekend hours.

Responsibilities

• Provide supportive services to tenants aged 18-25 to help meet service plan goals.
• Conduct 1-on-1 sessions to empower tenants to complete goals.
• Collaborate with staff to deliver recovery-oriented, trauma-informed care.
• Educate tenants on self-help techniques and coping strategies.
• Maintain supportive relationships via phone, text, email, and in-person meetings.
• Document interactions and complete required reports.
• Coordinate the Tenant Advisory Group (TAG) and plan monthly meetings.
