Job summary

Optum’s Deaconess HomeCare is seeking a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant in Mississippi to perform treatment and provide exercise instruction under the supervising PT. This role supports improving patient well-being in a home-care setting.

Qualifications

• Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy in state of practice.
• Current driver’s license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation.
• Available to work a weekend rotation.

Responsibilities

• Following all state laws governing the provision of physical therapy in home care; perform only those procedures defined by the supervising PT and recommend changes in the plan of care.
• Instructs and aids patients in active and passive exercise, gait, ADL, transfer, and mobility training.
• Observes and reports patient responses to treatment to the supervising PT and coordinates care with the healthcare team.
• Instructs patient and family in therapy areas within the scope of PTA.
• Ability to function in diverse home settings.
