Job summary

Acelero Learning is seeking a Substitute Preschool Teacher to support a Head Start classroom for 3- to 4-year-olds. The teacher works with another educator to run a room of 14 to 20 children and covers assignments across multiple locations within the county as needed.

You will plan and implement learning experiences, promote early literacy and numeracy, and maintain a safe, healthy environment. The role emphasizes positive guidance, family engagement, and collaboration with center staff.

Qualifications

• Plans and implements learning experiences advancing literacy, phonemic awareness, print and numeracy.
• Establishes a safe, healthy learning environment with required adult-child ratio.
• Supports social and emotional development using positive guidance techniques.

Responsibilities

• Follows the curriculum as scheduled during coverage.
• Plans/implements activities to advance children's development.
• Maintains safety and supervision at all times.
• Encourages family involvement in Head Start program.
• Works with other teachers to operate the classroom smoothly.
• Adheres to center policies on health, safety, nutrition, and operations.
