Job summary

The Phoenix Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Sunnyside, NY is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist (RT) to join our geriatric care team. The position is full-time with Saturday and Sunday coverage in a skilled nursing facility, focusing on evaluation and independent treatment of residents with diverse respiratory conditions.

Responsibilities include initiating therapies, documenting patient records, performing bedside treatments, and conducting quarterly in-services for nursing staff.

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program.
• Licensed as RRT or CRT.
• BLS certification and licensed in practicing state.

Responsibilities

• Completes assessments and implements respiratory therapies for diverse illnesses.
• Initiate therapies, maintain records, operate and assemble equipment.
• Deliver bedside treatments and support nursing staff.
• Lead in-services for nursing staff every quarter.
• Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly documentation.
• Attend applicable IDT meetings and participate in caseload management.
• Experience with tracheotomy and long-term care settings.
• Follow facility procedures and protocols.
