The Phoenix Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Glendale, NY is seeking a full-time Respiratory Therapist to join our skilled nursing team supporting geriatric residents. The RT will evaluate and treat independently, participate in IDT meetings, and provide bedside therapies with emphasis on patient comfort and safety.

Candidates must hold a COARC-accredited AS or BS in Respiratory Care and be licensed as RRT or CRT with BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program.
• Licensed as RRT or CRT.
• BLS certification required.

Responsabilités

• Complete assessments and implement respiratory therapies for patients with a variety of respiratory illnesses.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment.
• Perform bedside treatments and document daily, weekly and monthly records.
• Provide in-services for nursing staff on a quarterly basis.
• Attend IDT meetings and participate in care planning.
• Experience with tracheotomy and long-term care settings preferred.
• Follow facility procedures and protocols and ensure compliance.
• Manage tracking, auditing and caseload information.
