Job summary

The Phoenix Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in New York is seeking a full-time Respiratory Therapist (RT) to join a skilled nursing team focused on geriatric care.

The RT will perform assessments, initiate therapies, operate equipment, and document care while coordinating with the IDT. Weekend schedule (Saturday/Sunday) supports experienced professionals providing bedside treatments and tracheotomy care in a long-term care setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program.
• Licensed as RRT or CRT.
• Licensed in the state in which practicing; BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Completes assessments and implements Respiratory techniques to treat patients with various respiratory illnesses.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment.
• Complete bedside treatments.
• Complete in-services for nursing staff every quarter.
• Responsible for completing daily, weekly and monthly documentation.
• Attend applicable IDT meetings.
• Experience with tracheotomy.
• Experience in a long term care setting.
• Follow facility procedures and protocols.
• Completes tracking, auditing and caseload management.
• Performs related duties as required
