Job summary

The Phoenix Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in New York seeks a full-time Respiratory Therapist to support our geriatric residents. You will evaluate and treat patients independently, perform bedside procedures, and contribute to staff education to improve resident experiences.

Candidate must have a COARC-accredited Respiratory program credential and an active RRT/CRT license with BLS. The shift requires Saturday and Sunday coverage in a skilled nursing environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program.
• Licensed as RRT or CRT in the state of practice.
• BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Complete assessments and implement respiratory therapy to maintain or rehab patients with various respiratory illnesses.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment.
• Perform a variety of bedside treatments.
• Provide in-services for nursing staff quarterly.
• Complete daily, weekly and monthly documentation.
• Attend applicable IDT meetings.
• Experience with tracheostomy.
• Experience in a long-term care setting.
• Follow facility procedures and protocols.
• Complete tracking, auditing and caseload management.
• Perform related duties as required.
