Job summary

Farmers Pride Inc. in Fredericksburg, PA is seeking a Food Safety Systems Technician I for the 2nd shift. You will monitor key safety interventions, collect samples, and support audits to promote a strong food safety culture within our facilities.

You will work with the FSQA team to ensure compliance with GMPs and take proactive steps to identify and address safety or quality concerns, including QA support, data entry, and inter-department collaboration.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and at least 6 months of QA experience or training.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with fellow department team members and other critical departments.
• Must be able to read and interpret documents pertaining to safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Must be able to read, write, communicate, and comprehend effectively in English to accurately complete documentation.
• Basic computer skills with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to perform all duties under minimal supervision and collaborate with a larger group.
• Experience with food safety and ERP systems (e.g., SafetyChain) preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor key equipment performance parameters related to food safety systems interventions, including chemical titrations, flow rates, temperature checks, pH testing, and other monitoring tasks.
• Collection of product and environmental samples to support validation studies and continuous improvement projects.
• Provide support to ensure safe, quality products and report any deficiencies.
• Interpret and enforce GMPs, regulations, and procedures to ensure food safety standards are met.
• Assist in regulatory testing to ensure compliance as needed (e.g., water retention testing).
• Support FSQA department through participation in projects, audits, and other duties as assigned.
• Support investigations related to nonconformances and audit findings; identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Other duties may be assigned by the Food Safety Systems Supervisor or Manager.
