Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years as a fire investigator; combination of public and private sector experience preferred.
• IAAI CFI certification required or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
• NAFI-CFEI certification preferred.
• Bondable and eligible for private investigator licensing where required.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Investigates and analyzes origin and cause of fire and explosion events per NFPA 921 and 1033.
• Collects evidence and documents scenes per NFPA 921 & 1033; photographs and preserves equipment.
• Interviews witnesses and canvasses neighborhood; records statements with responders and officials.
• Identifies and analyzes compliance with installed fire suppression and detection systems.
• Prepares accurate, clear reports outlining the cause and origin of damages for clients.
