Job summary

Envista Forensics in Denver is seeking a part-time Fire & Explosion Investigator with 5+ years of experience. If you have a CFI or can obtain it within six months, this role analyzes origin and cause of fires and explosions at residential, commercial, and industrial sites per NFPA 921 and 1033.

Responsibilities include collecting evidence, documenting scenes, interviewing witnesses, and preparing clear reports.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of fire investigation experience (public and private sectors preferred).
• IAAI CFI required or within 6 months of hire; NAFI-CFEI acceptable.
• Bondable and eligible for private investigator licensing.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Ability to work in catastrophic environments for extended periods.
• Ability to operate a vehicle safely.

Responsibilities

• Investigates origin and cause of fire and explosion at residential, commercial, and industrial sites per NFPA 921 and 1033.
• Collects evidence and documents scenes per NFPA 921 & 1033.
• Photographs incident sites and preserves evidence for review.
• Interviews witnesses and canvasses neighborhoods for statements.
• Identifies compliance with fire suppression/detection systems.
• Prepares clear, concise reports outlining damages and findings.
• Collaborates with multi-disciplinary teams on large assignments.
• Maintains relationships with clients and consultants.
