Job summary

Windsor Public Schools seeks a Long Term Substitute Elementary Classroom Teacher at John F. Kennedy Elementary School. The role supports students and staff with engaging materials and develops appropriate programs under the Principal's supervision.

The substitute will collaborate with teachers, manage classroom operations, and maintain records in compliance with district policies while fostering a positive learning environment for diverse learners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education discipline.
• Experience teaching at the appropriate grade level preferred.
• Knowledge of differentiated instruction based on student needs.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents.
• Familiarity with data information systems and instructional reporting.

Responsibilities

• Operates and supervises the classroom.
• Evaluates, selects appropriate supplies and equipment and maintains inventory records.
• Assists students in evaluating their aptitudes and abilities.
• Coordinates with administrators and other teaching staff to select instructional materials and informs staff of new acquisitions.
• Serves as a ready resource to students to provide assistance.
• Organizes and maintains accurate and complete records as required by district procedures and laws.
• Encourages parental involvement and ensures effective communication with students and parents.
• Ensures student conduct conforms to school standards and policies, and maintains classroom behavior standards.
• Participates in lessons with classroom teachers.
• Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal and central administrators.
