Job summary

Windsor Public Schools is seeking a dedicated paraeducator to assist certified staff in the classroom at John F. Kennedy Elementary School. You will support reading, math, and instructional activities, supervise meals and transitions, and help implement individualized education plans.

Under supervision, you will help create a supportive learning environment, document student progress, and collaborate with teachers and staff to foster student inclusion and safety.

Qualifications

• Assists and guides students to reinforce reading, language arts, mathematics, computer instruction, and other skills.
• Works with students individually and in small groups to reinforce learning and implement programs.
• Assists classroom staff with administration and correction of exercises, tests and assessments.
• Assists in classroom preparations and strategies for reinforcing instructional materials.
• Assists with record-keeping to document student learning and performance.
• Helps with classroom behavioral management to maintain a safe, orderly environment.
• Supervises students in non-instructional areas (lunch, bus, playground, etc.).
• Accompanies students on field trips for supervision.
• Assists with parent contact to foster involvement in student education.
• Supports students with special needs to maximize inclusion and achievement.
