Colonial School District in Delaware seeks an Elementary Special Education Teacher for a self-contained classroom. You will plan and deliver individualized instruction aligned with CCSS and IEP goals in a structured setting, supporting students with complex needs, including ASD.

The role requires Delaware certification, collaboration with families, and use of evidence-based strategies and technology tools to promote progress and independence throughout the 10-month school year.

Qualifications

• Must be eligible or hold valid State of Delaware certification as a Teacher of Elementary Grades or Early Childhood Teacher and Teacher of Exceptional Children.
• Background checks and no entries on Child Protection Registry in Delaware.
• Praxis II tests completed and student teaching placement.
• Bachelor's degree required; master's preferred.

Responsabilités

• Develop and implement IEPs based on assessments and progress toward goals.
• Deliver specially designed instruction aligned with CCSS and IEP goals.
• Differentiate instruction across Reading, Math, Science and Social Studies.
• Implement behavioral and social-emotional interventions and manage a structured classroom.
• Monitor assessments and report progress to families and district.
• Plan weekly lessons and supervise paraprofessionals.
