Job summary

Colonial School District in Delaware seeks an Elementary Special Education Teacher for a self-contained classroom. The position focuses on high-quality, specially designed instruction and collaboration with families and staff to support students with diverse needs.

Qualifications

• Eligible or hold Delaware certification as Teacher of Elementary Grades (or Early Childhood) and Teacher of Exceptional Children.
• Praxis II tests completed and student teaching placement.
• Bachelor's degree required; master's preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement IEPs based on assessments and goals.
• Design instruction aligned with CCSS and IEP goals (incl. BIPs).
• Differentiate instruction across Reading, Math, Science and Social Studies.
• Administer and monitor assessments to drive instructional decisions.
• Plan weekly lessons and supervise paraprofessionals.
• Communicate with families about progress and participate in IEP meetings.
