Job summary

Ampact's Early Learning Corps is hiring an Early Learning Tutor to work in a pre-kindergarten classroom, supporting literacy and numeracy through proven activities. You’ll train, be coached, and help students build confidence and a love of learning.

Positions run for the 2026-27 school year (Aug 2026–Jun 2027). AmeriCorps members receive a biweekly paycheck of $17.63/hour, with benefits including health insurance and tuition assistance.

Qualifications

• Dependable with a history of good attendance.
• Ability to follow instructions and improve based on feedback.
• Proficient in basic computer skills (email, navigating online).
• Fluent in English (speaking, reading and writing).
• 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• A citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of the United States.
• Able to successfully complete a background check.

Responsibilities

• Be a caring adult focused on helping students thrive.
• Support preschoolers with learning activities throughout the day.
• Track student progress and meet regularly with the school's onsite coach.
• Conduct skill assessments and enter scores into tracking software.
• Commit to growth through coaching and training.
• Share experiences with the community.
