Job summary

Thom Child & Family Services in Boston, MA seeks a Developmental Specialist/Early Childhood Educator to deliver home and community-based early intervention services for infants and toddlers with developmental delays and their families.

You will partner with families, develop IFSPs, and ensure services are individualized, evidence-based, and culturally respectful while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in infants and toddlers (Early Intervention / Early Childhood Education) with practicum or work experience.
• Experience with infants, toddlers and families is preferred.
• Knowledge of family systems and early childhood development.
• Ability to engage in meaningful therapeutic relationships with children, parents/caregivers, and community partners.
• Commitment to delivering individualized and culturally humble services.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills.
• Abide by confidentiality and professional boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Participate in multidisciplinary team assessments of the client’s developmental status.
• Provide direct child development services for 0–3 and families.
• Develop IFSP goals, objectives and strategies for child development.
• Complete progress notes, reports, assessments, and correspondence.
• Provide individual and group interventions for infants and toddlers with delays or risk.
• Assess family and child strengths and progress.
• Serve as service coordinator scheduling and monitoring intervention plans.
• Provide supportive professional assistance to families.
• Facilitate parent-child interactions to encourage development.
