Job summary

SAMMinistries Transitional Living and Learning Center seeks an Early Head Start Teacher to provide developmentally appropriate care and education for children 18 months through 3 years old at the Children's Enrichment Center. You will create a safe, structured classroom using trauma-informed practices and partner with families.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required; associate degree preferred.
• Meet Head Start Program Performance Standards and TX licensing requirements.
• Possess or be willing to obtain CDAC certification.
• Minimum of one year experience; three years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and implement developmentally appropriate lessons and activities.
• Maintain a safe, structured classroom with trauma-informed guidance.
• Support children in meeting developmental milestones through individualized instruction.
• Foster social and emotional development including sharing and self-regulation.
• Supervise children at all times and ensure safety.
• Communicate with parents professionally and support family engagement.
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to support operations and care.
• Work with diverse families and communities.
• Report suspected child abuse as required.
