Job summary

Save the Children seeks an Early Head Start Teacher to develop individualized and group lessons for infants and toddlers, promoting social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth. You will work with a co-Teacher and aides to maintain a high-quality learning environment and ensure safety and compliance with regulations.

Qualifications

• CDA or equivalent coursework in early childhood education with preschool experience.
• Professional proficiency in spoken and written English.
• Strong communication and collaboration with teams.
• Interpersonal, organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to follow established directions and take initiative.
• Knowledge of Head Start/Early Head Start program purpose.
• Maintain confidentiality of children and families.
• Active required certifications: basic first aid and pediatric CPR as needed.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized and group lesson plans for infants and toddlers to promote social-emotional, physical, and cognitive growth.
• Lead classroom activities in collaboration with a co-Teacher and support from aides/volunteers.
• Create a safe, developmentally appropriate learning environment and manage equipment and materials.
• Provide responsive caregiving and integrate routines into a flexible daily schedule.
• Plan conferences and home visits to inform families about child progress and learning.
• Maintain accurate records and protect confidentiality of families.
• Document observations, assessments, and portfolios for each child; track weekly progress.
• Support professional development and collaboration with staff to enhance classroom practices.
