Job summary

Woodland Park School District RE-2 seeks an Early Childhood Special Education Teacher to maximize learning for students with significant needs. You will develop IEPs, implement behavior plans, and collaborate with families and professionals.

The role requires ECSE certification, a relevant degree, and prior SPED experience. Occasional travel to district buildings and meetings is expected, with a 40-hour week and 178 days per year.

Qualifications

• State certification as ECSE teacher is required.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher with endorsement in ECSE.
• Prior special education teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments and diagnostic exams to identify learning issues.
• Participate in PPTs and develop IEPs for students.
• Assist in implementing IEPs and behavior management plans.
• Coordinate with outside agencies and administrators as needed.
• Maintain accurate student records and provide progress reports.
• Encourage parental involvement and effective communication.
• Orient new teachers and provide in-service guidance.
• Select and requisition instructional materials and maintain inventory.
• Travel to district buildings and professional meetings as required.
