Job summary

Leidos seeks Distribution Engineers in the U.S. to design and review electrical utility systems, balancing field data collection with office calculations. You will work on lines, substations, and related projects, coordinating with clients to ensure quality and schedule adherence.

The role blends field visits with design tasks, leveraging GIS, MicroStation, and COE tools. A bachelor’s in engineering (ABET) and 4+ years of experience are required; PE/PMP and growth opportunities are encouraged.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited institution; related experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
• 4+ years of relevant experience required.
• Background in NESC and electric utility design practices.

Responsibilities

• Perform design engineering for Leidos electric utility customers, including QC tasks.
• Develop work packages for OH, UG, URD, Make Ready, and Street Light projects leveraging GIS and Work Management systems.
• Coordinate with engineers and design leads on client issues, maintaining schedule adherence and budget.
• Review engineering design packages with clients and perform planning and follow-up tasks.
• Analyze scope of work and uphold client priorities; maintain schedule adherence.
• Initiate continuous improvement to workflows for efficiency and high-quality deliverables.
• Coordinate conflicting utilities and develop large design packages for complex projects in dense urban environments; assist with permits, easements, and ROW.
