Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED and three years of experience interpreting and applying laws regarding program eligibility.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and analyzes evidence to determine disability benefits eligibility.
• Prepares detailed written analyses and notifies claimants and the SSA.
• Manages a caseload of initial SSA and SSI claims at various stages.
• Protects confidential medical and vocational information under federal and state mandates.
• Completes case reviews and writes analyses to ensure compliance with SSA laws.
• Determines medical and vocational information needed to substantiate claims.
• Arranges for additional medical tests or examinations as needed.
• Prepares residual functional capacity assessments based on condition severity.
• Consults with physicians, psychologists, and vocational experts on complex issues.
• Interviews or corresponds with claimants and others to gather evidence.
