Job summary

Challenge Unlimited, Inc/Residential Options is seeking a Direct Support Professional to empower individuals with disabilities in Pontoon Beach, IL. No experience needed; paid training provided.

The DSP will assist with ADLs, administer medications, provide transportation, and help residents achieve goals in a home-like setting. Shifts are full-time, evenings 2:00pm–10:00pm, with weekends and some holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must pass criminal background checks as described in requirements.
• CPR/1st Aid/ CPI training provided by the company within 4 months and annually thereafter.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) including hygiene, bathing, dressing, meals, housekeeping and laundry.
• Support residents with medication administration and monitor health and safety concerns.
• Maintain a safe living/working environment and perform general tasks (cleaning, snow removal).
• Provide transportation to appointments, shopping, activities, and community events.
• Foster a safe, home-like environment and provide physical and emotional support.
• Document services, resident progress, behaviors, incidents, and health information.
