Job summary

ABiLITY is seeking a Direct Support Professional to assist individuals with developmental disabilities. The role emphasizes daily living skills, observation, documentation, and safe transportation, maintaining a calm, responsive approach in varied settings.

You will work with a team to follow individualized plans, participate in staff meetings, and ensure compliance with HIPAA and safety protocols. On-call rotation and flexible hours support program needs and supervision responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old with 4 years driving experience.
• High school diploma or GED and Missouri Class E Chauffeurs license.
• Able to pass Missouri DOT physical.
• Complete 50 hours of training within first 90 days.
• Experience with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals with developmental disabilities while promoting independence.
• Observe and accurately record data to support ongoing assessment.
• Transport individuals to and from community activities and program locations.
• Follow individualized plans and goals during every shift.
• Ensure safety, document accurately, and maintain vehicle and program operations.
