Job summary

DABS Inc. is hiring a Direct Support Professional in California to provide individualized support to adults with developmental disabilities in Supported Living settings. The role emphasizes health and safety, with occasional hands-on help with ADLs and meal preparation.

You’ll help maintain a stable living environment and support independence. Applicants should have 2–3 years of direct support experience, knowledge of IPP/ISP/BSP, and training in Safety Care or CPI is preferred.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of direct support experience with adults with developmental disabilities.
• Experience with individuals with complex behavioral or mental health needs preferred.
• Proficiency in IPP, ISP and BSP implementation.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centered supervision within the individual’s home and community.
• Assist with ADLs including bathing, toileting, dressing and personal hygiene.
• Assist with meals, light housekeeping and laundry.
• Supervise medication administration when needed.
• Accompany and transport to medical and personal appointments.
• Implement Behavior Support Plans to prevent and de-escalate outbursts or symptoms.
• Observe and report changes in health, behavior or environment to the supervisor.
• Complete daily logs and progress notes per DDS, Regional Center and agency standards.
• Participate in interdisciplinary meetings as needed.
