Job summary

City Fund is seeking a hands-on data systems & analytics manager to oversee the data infrastructure for learning, evaluation, and reporting. You will design ELT/ETL pipelines, build a reliable BigQuery warehouse, and create a trustworthy semantic layer for cross-team use.

You will field data questions, ensure data quality, and collaborate with Strategy to deliver dashboards and metrics, including demographic-adjusted proficiency measures.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in data systems management with independent ownership of data systems.
• Expert SQL and experience in a cloud data warehouse (BigQuery preferred).
• Experience building ELT/ETL pipelines and a version-controlled transformation/semantic layer (dbt/Dataform).

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain the central BigQuery warehouse and the ELT/ETL pipelines that keep it current, versioned, and reliable.
• Develop the transformations and semantic layer (dbt or Dataform) that turn raw sources into analysis-ready models.
• Maintain the master list of schools City Fund tracks and map records to City Fund locations.
• Collaborate with the Strategy Team to develop queries and datasets for internal learning, reporting, and board requests.
