Job summary

The Department of Health and Social Services (DHSS) in Delaware seeks an Analyst for the DDDS Community Services team to support the Client Benefits unit. The incumbent will act as liaison to the Social Security Administration to ensure paperwork is completed by due dates and that benefit disruptions are avoided.

Qualifications

• Six months experience in conducting studies evaluating operations, programs, services, policies and procedures.
• Six months experience in descriptive statistics such as mean, median, mode or standard deviation.
• Six months experience in interpreting laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies or procedures.
• Six months experience in narrative report writing.
• Knowledge of designing studies with goals, data sources, sampling and collection methods.
• Knowledge of recommending changes to operations, programs, services or policies based on findings.
• Knowledge of inferential statistics such as correlation, t-tests, f-tests or ANOVA.

Responsibilities

• Interview agency staff and observe processes to gather data for evaluating services.
• Review data and perform statistical analysis to assess policies and operations.
• Analyze data and develop solutions or alternative methods of proceeding.
• Evaluate operations to ensure goals and objectives are met.
• Provide technical assistance in understanding and developing management objectives.
• Study legislation, administrative orders and regulations relevant to the role.
• Recommend and assist in implementing new techniques to improve operations.
• Document findings and prepare recommendations for new systems or changes.
• May supervise administrative staff as needed.
