Job summary

Desert Springs Post Acute is seeking a compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our rehabilitation team in Riverside County. Under OT supervision, you will implement treatment plans to improve residents’ daily living activities and independence, including ADLs and mobility, while documenting progress.

You will collaborate with nursing and therapy colleagues to achieve the best outcomes, educate residents and caregivers, and ensure compliance with facility policies

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
• Current California COTA license in good standing.
• CPR certification preferred.
• Skilled nursing facility experience preferred but not required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist, implement treatment plans for residents to improve ADLs and functional independence.
• Assist residents with dressing, grooming, bathing, feeding, and mobility.
• Provide therapeutic exercises to improve strength, balance, and coordination.
• Monitor progress and document treatments and resident responses.
• Collaborate with nursing and interdisciplinary teams to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Educate residents and caregivers on therapy techniques and safety strategies.
