Alpharus Health is seeking a Substance Use Counselor at the Western Reception Diagnostic Correctional Center in St. Joseph, MO, to perform comprehensive assessments and deliver individual and group counseling within a correctional health care setting.

You will document treatment plans, monitor client progress, and participate in case management while adhering to program policies and standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Missouri Alcohol Drug Counselor (MAADC) certification required.
• Ability to obtain MSAPCB certification within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Completes comprehensive assessments of clients' substance abuse history and treatment requirements, and develops individualized treatment plan.
• Provides individual and group counseling and may facilitate didactic groups.
• Documents treatment and discharge plans, and clients' progress and responses to treatment; maintains related records and charts.
• Performs case management and contributes to client care monitoring.
