The Department of Law in Georgia seeks a Customer Service Specialist in the Consumer Protection Division to handle inquiries, complaints, and information requests from the public. This role supports consumer protection by providing accurate guidance and routing issues to the appropriate state offices.

Responsibilities include answering calls, processing complaints, determining jurisdiction, and generating timely written responses while maintaining high data accuracy and customer service

Qualifications

• Two years of college and one year in customer service or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; prior office experience beneficial.
• Strong English communication and grammar skills.

Responsibilities

• Answers consumer telephone calls.
• Receives and processes complaints, inquiries and requests for information and/or assistance from the general public.
• Determines complaint/inquiry jurisdiction (state, local or federal) and refers matters to the appropriate office.
• Processes jurisdictional complaints by gathering and entering relevant information in a computer database with a high degree of accuracy.
• Generates response letters to written correspondence and performs related administrative and clerical work.
• Presents, organize and convey complex problems/issues.
• Performs duties in a manner that meets or exceeds office quality and quantity standards.
