Job summary

All Seniors Foundation in Los Angeles County seeks a Bilingual Spanish Patient Advocate to guide Spanish-speaking seniors through Medi-Cal, IHSS, hospice, and other benefits. You will translate, advocate, and help families make informed healthcare decisions, visiting homes and coordinating with clinics.

You’ll document interactions in our case-management system, build trust with communities, and participate in outreach at churches and senior housing, delivering compassionate, no-cost services.

Qualifications

• Spanish and English fluency required for oral and written communication.
• Experience working with elderly populations, healthcare systems, or social services.
• Cultural competency with Latinx, Hispanic, and immigrant senior communities in LA.
• Strong empathy, patience, and ability to explain complex topics in plain language.
• High school diploma; bachelor’s in social work, public health, or related preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial assessments with Spanish-speaking seniors and families to understand care needs.
• Translate between English-speaking staff and Spanish-speaking clients during medical and benefits conversations.
• Help clients enroll in Medi-Cal, IHSS, hospice, Medicare Savings Programs, and other benefits.
• Accompany clients to medical appointments and benefits offices as interpreter and advocate.
• Document interactions in our case-management system and follow up on open issues.
• Build trust with Spanish-speaking communities through outreach at churches, community centers, and senior housing.
