Job summary

All Seniors Foundation is seeking a Bilingual Tagalog Patient Advocate to connect Filipino-American seniors in LA with free care and benefits. You will translate, advocate, and guide clients through Medi-Cal, IHSS, hospice, and other programs while visiting homes and attending benefits offices.

Ideal candidates are fluent in Tagalog and English, with experience in elderly services, empathy, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Native or near-native fluency in Tagalog and English.
• Experience with elderly populations, healthcare systems, or social services.
• Cultural competency with Filipino-American senior communities.
• Strong empathy, patience, and ability to explain complex topics in plain language.
• High school diploma; bachelor’s in social work, public health, or related preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial assessments with Tagalog-speaking seniors and families.
• Translate between English-speaking staff and Tagalog-speaking clients during medical and benefits conversations.
• Help clients enroll in Medi-Cal, IHSS, hospice, Medicare Savings Programs, and other benefits.
• Accompany clients to medical appointments and benefits offices as interpreter and advocate.
• Document interactions in our case-management system and follow up on open issues.
• Build trust with Filipino-American communities through outreach at parishes, community centers, and senior housing.
