Job summary

Granite State Independent Living (GSIL) seeks a CWIC-certified information, referral, and advocacy specialist to assist individuals with disabilities in navigating SSI/SSDI work incentives, NH Medicaid, and related state benefits. You will conduct intakes, perform benefits analyses, and coordinate with VR, ENs, and public agencies to support employment goals.

Qualifications

• Must hold CWIC certification and suitability clearance.
• Bachelor's degree in social services, human services, or related field preferred.
• Attain 15 Continuing Certification Credits (CCCs) to maintain CWIC certification each year through VCU trainings and benefits analysis review trainings.

Responsibilities

• Provide information and referral services to beneficiaries about work incentives, NH Medicaid programs, subsidies, and state benefits.
• Conduct timely intakes to counsel beneficiaries on how earnings affect SSI/SSDI work incentives and medical coverage.
• Provide in-depth benefits analysis and develop a comprehensive Benefits Summary and Analysis and Work Incentives Plan.
• Refer job-seeking beneficiaries to NH Vocational Rehabilitation (VR), Employment Networks, NH Works/One-Stop Career Center/Unemployment Office, and related entities.
• Provide ongoing financial counseling follow-up, prioritizing employed individuals or those with a job offer.
• Refer general questions to I&R specialists for additional information and referrals.
• Maintain professional knowledge by reviewing literature and attending trainings by VCU, SSA, and other resources.
• Uphold GSIL policies, procedures, and safety practices.
• Share newsworthy information within the organization.
