Job summary

Goodwill Southern New England in Connecticut seeks an Employment Specialist to help adults with disabilities pursue competitive employment through intake, planning, and job placement.

You will collaborate with employers, coordinate ISP/IRP plans, train clients for work readiness, and document progress to meet guidelines while supporting self-advocacy. This role emphasizes community engagement and empowerment in daily work life.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as evaluation reports and job descriptions.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and maintain accurate documentation.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate intake for referrals, conduct comprehensive intake interviews, and develop ISP/IRP plans.
• Advance employment readiness and support transitions to work including travel training and proper attire.
• Develop and maintain partnerships with community organizations and employers to secure job opportunities.
• Facilitate team meetings to review ISP/IRP progress and coordinate services.
• Provide crisis intervention and documentation to meet state and agency standards.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in related field
