Job summary

CLA is actively seeking an Audit Director/Audit Manager to join our State and Local Government (SLG) practice in the Midwest. You will lead client engagements, drive strategic audit objectives, and mentor staff across local, county, and state government agencies.

You will oversee budgets, timelines, and the delivery of high-quality governmental audits, including Single Audits, while fostering strong client relationships and a culture of professional growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in a large professional services or public accounting firm.
• Experience leading teams and managing governmental audits and Single audits.
• CPA license/certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Manage and develop relationships with clients.
• Assist clients in obtaining funding to positively impact their community.
• Assist clients with meeting audit and financial planning objectives using a range of tools.
• Be creative with staff development, mentoring, and overseeing engagement teams.
• Lead the engagement progress by monitoring time budgets and deadlines for adherence; communicate findings to the engagement principal.
