Job summary

CLA (CliftonLarsonAllen) is seeking an Audit Director/Audit Manager to join our State and Local Government practice in the Midwest. The role focuses on leading client engagements, developing teams, and ensuring timely, high‑quality audits within government and related sectors.

You will work with a strong SLG team, driving strategic management, mentoring staff, and maintaining excellent client relationships while advancing CLA’s commitment to community impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in a large professional services or public accounting firm driving strategic management.
• Experience leading teams of high performing people and managing governmental audits and Single audits strongly preferred
• CPA license certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Manage and develop relationships with great clients.
• Assist clients in obtaining necessary funding to continue to positively impact their community.
• Assist clients with meeting their audit and financial planning objectives by using a range of tools.
• Be creative with staff development, mentoring, and overseeing client engagement teams.
• Lead the engagement progress by monitoring time budgets and deadlines for adherence.
