Job summary

Jobot is seeking an Assistant Controller for a mission-driven nonprofit in San Francisco on a temp-to-hire basis. The role supports month-end closes, internal controls, and audit readiness, with a salary of $60-$65 per hour.

The successful candidate will have 5+ years of accounting experience, CPA preferred, and strong skills in financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls within a nonprofit environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience; nonprofit experience is a plus.
• Active CPA or equivalent public accounting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and analysis of month-end financial reports.
• Develop, implement, and maintain effective internal controls.
• Research accounting and tax matters to ensure compliance with standards.
• Perform reconciliations and reviews of general ledger accounts.
• Monitor activity and aging across balance sheet accounts.
• Oversee invoicing for organization-wide expenses and related activity.
• Collaborate to reconcile intercompany balances monthly.
• Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
• Support audits with compilation of required documentation.
• Maintain capital asset records and depreciation tracking.
