Job summary

A leading non-profit organization in the Bay Area is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller or Controller to oversee the accounting function. This role involves rebuilding the accounting system, managing a team of 5 accountants, and reporting to the CFO. Ideal candidates should have 7+ years of accounting experience, strong payroll knowledge, and staff management skills. The position is full-time with onsite work 3 days a week after 90 days.

Qualifications

• 7+ years experience in accounting including Accounts Payable, Payroll and GL/Close/Financial Statement production.
• Minimum 2+ years of direct staff management required.
• Strong technical background in systems and automation.

Responsibilities

• Manage the accounting function for a 300 person company.
• Build out a new chart of accounts and streamline policies and procedures.
• Report into the CFO and manage a team of 5 accountants.
