Job summary

The Boys and Girls Clubs of San Leandro is seeking a Program Manager to lead high-quality after-school programming at a school-based site. You will supervise staff, manage partnerships with schools, and ensure programs meet ASES and ELOP standards while driving safe, engaging, and outcome-focused youth experiences.

You will oversee program operations, staff development, and resource management to deliver enriching activities that support families and prepare youth for success.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in after-school programming, youth development, or a related field.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in staff supervision, coaching, and leadership.
• Strong understanding of child safety, behavior management, and youth engagement strategies.
• Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with school administrators, parents, and community partners.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask, problem-solve, and adapt to changing circumstances.
• CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire).
• Ability to pass a background check and meet state-mandated requirements for working with youth.

Responsibilities

• Lead after-school site programs and services to prepare youth for success while ensuring safety and alignment with ASES/ELOP standards.
• Supervise and develop KinderCare Coordinators and Youth Development Professionals, guiding supervision and parent engagement.
• Plan meetings, trainings, and events to support staff development and best practices in after-school programming.
• Use CRM data, compile monthly reports, and conduct site observations to evaluate program effectiveness.
• Oversee budget, safety, and relationships with schools and community partners.
• Represent BGCSL and promote engagement with families, schools, and external stakeholders.
