Job summary

Loudoun County Government's Parks, Recreation & Community Services is seeking substitute After-School Leaders for the CASA and YAS programs. You will assist in planning and implementing recreational activities for elementary and middle school youth, following curriculum and safety standards.

The role emphasizes creating a welcoming, inclusive environment, supervising groups, and supporting health checks and snack time while fostering positive youth development.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Six (6) months of programming experience with children.
• Minimum age 16 years or older; younger applicants may be considered for a lower grade.

Responsibilities

• Lead recreational programs for children following curriculum and safety standards.
• Facilitate activities, group games, and reading time according to plans and children needs.
• Provide a welcoming and safe environment; assist with health checks, snack time, and emergency procedures.
• Other essential duties as assigned by the department.
