Job summary

SBCS Corporation, through its Youth & Community Wellness program at Montgomery Middle School, seeks a part-time School Programs Youth Leader to supervise and support after-school activities for 10–20 youths. The role focuses on academic enrichment, social-emotional well-being, and collaboration with site staff to meet grant and school goals.

The position involves tutoring, activity planning, and maintaining a positive, safe environment evenings and some weekends, with duties aligned to BASP/ASES

Qualifications

• Must be one-year removed from high school graduation and three years removed from graduation/matriculation from SUHSD school you are applying to.
• AA or BA is highly desirable, passing score on district’s Instructional Assistant Test acceptable.
• Minimum of one year working with youth and/or children is highly desirable.
• Must be highly dependable.
• Must have a warm and friendly personality and the sensitivity to meet the needs of a diverse population.
• Must have the ability to lead sports, games and curriculum activities, and monitor behavior.
• Ability to provide leadership and stability to the program.

Responsibilities

• Participate in planning and implementing the program in accordance with SBCS and educational guidelines.
• Oversee participants, provide guidance and positive role modeling.
• Organize materials and supplies for activities and ensure clean-up after activities.
• Maintain accurate program records including participant registration and daily attendance.
• Recruit and promote the program to school youth and parents.
• Plan and coordinate age-appropriate activities and events for participants.
• Provide tutoring assistance and academic enrichment aligned with school goals.
• Attend required meetings and trainings and other duties as assigned.
