Job summary

POAH Communities in Providence, RI is seeking a Compliance Audit & Support Specialist to audit LIHTC, Section 8, HOME and other programs across the portfolio. This role requires up to 75% travel by plane or car and periods of remote work from a home office when not traveling.

You will conduct comprehensive file audits, provide training and regulatory guidance, and support the Compliance Department to ensure ongoing readiness.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of experience in affordable housing compliance, property management, or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience reviewing and auditing affordable housing resident files.
• Strong working knowledge of LIHTC, HUD, Project-Based Section 8, HOME, and other affordable housing programs.

Responsibilities

• Audit lease-up, initial move-in, transfer, and other resident files for accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Review files for compliance with LIHTC, Section 8, HOME, and state housing finance agency requirements.
• Deliver training and provide compliance support to site teams and departments.
• Process or assist with HAP billing, reporting, and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with internal and third-party audits and corrective action plans.
