Job summary

Northwest Medical Center Houghton in the United States is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to deliver advanced respiratory care under physician orders. You will assess patients, implement treatment plans, document care, and collaborate with the healthcare team to promote safe and effective outcomes.

The role requires RRT certification, ACLS and PALS, and NRP if NICU department is involved. NICU STABLE certification is also preferred.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of respiratory experience in an acute care setting preferred
• RRT certification required
• ACLS required and PALS required and NRP if NICU department
• STABLE neonatal certification if NICU department

Responsibilities

• Administers advanced respiratory treatments and monitors patient responses.
• Orients patient to treatment modality prior to procedure to facilitate cooperation.
• Performs ABG punctures accurately and reports results promptly.
• Assists physicians with bedside procedures as assigned.
• Performs pulmonary testing procedures as assigned.
• Follows respiratory protocols and safety guidelines during procedures.
• Maintains respiratory therapy equipment with proper cleaning and safety standards.
• Implements written/verbal physician orders and documents treatments thoroughly.
