Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Houston seeks a phone-based Membership Sales professional to present the Y to prospective members and program participants. You will identify options that meet their needs, create a personalized sales experience, and connect callers to the Y's mission.

Ideal candidates bring strong interpersonal and communication skills, sales or customer service background, and the ability to engage diverse communities. CPR/First Aid within 30 days is required.

Qualifications

• CPR/AED and First Aid certifications required within 30 days of hire.
• Excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills.
• Ability to connect with people of diverse backgrounds.
• Previous customer service, sales or related experience.
• Basic knowledge of computers and phones.

Responsibilities

• Works with the Association Member Experience Sales Director to meet or exceed sales and revenue goals.
• Conducts outbound calls to prospective members/participants to sell YMCA memberships and programs.
• Recruits prospective members and encourages previous members to rejoin.
• Schedules center experience tours for prospective members and follows up after tours.
• Delivers a high quality experience by guiding callers through website and online registration processes.
• Registers participants over the phone and assists with clerical tasks as needed.
