Job summary

PEN America is seeking a Financial Analyst and Accountant to join the Finance team in New York, NY. The role reports to the Managing Director of Finance and Administration and will support planning, accounting, and administration in a fast-paced nonprofit setting.

The ideal candidate will manage accounts payable, coordinate with external accountants, assist with grants budgeting, and provide financial analyses for organizational decision making.

Qualifications

• Experience with nonprofit accounting under GAAP.
• Proficiency in accounting software and data manipulation.
• Ability to prepare and present financial reporting to diverse stakeholders.
• Experience supporting budgeting and grant accounting in a nonprofit.

Responsibilities

• Direct accounts payable, invoices, and payments; coordinate with accounting firm.
• Process income, monitor vendor contracts and tax information.
• Prepare budget vs. actual reports and other financial analyses.
• Collaborate with program, fundraising, and operations teams.
