Brooklyn Defender Services (BDS) seeks an experienced Federal Immigration Litigation Attorney to join the detained removal defense team in our Immigration Practice. The role is based in Brooklyn, NY, with a salary range of $102,000 to $123,000 per year and benefits including health insurance and a 403(b) retirement plan.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of immigration law or federal litigation experience, admission to NYS Bar or eligibility, and strong advocacy, research, and collaboration

Qualifikationen

• 3+ years of immigration law or federal litigation experience.
• Experience writing, filing, and arguing federal court litigation for immigrant rights.
• Admitted to or eligible for admission to NYS bar.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment and handle urgent matters.
• Excellent written and oral advocacy and strong organizational skills.

• Serve as primary counsel on federal district and circuit court litigation.
• Appear in district and circuit courts and argue oral arguments.
• Draft pleadings, briefs, motions, and other documents.
• Research and analyze legal theories to challenge violations.
• Collaborate with colleagues and external partners on federal court litigation.
